Where to Display Family Photos in Your Home

Family photos are meant to be displayed in our home. They are a beautiful way to create charm, meaning and most importantly they take us back to those special moments that seem all too fleeting. I secretly think walking into someone home and seeing their wedding photograph is the ultimate favorite.

Family photos are NOT only meant to be displayed in the bedroom or back office. Why? Because they cultivate connection in our homes and help use remember the good ol’ days. Who doesn’t want to relive those days on daily basis?🙋‍♀️I get asked a lot where to hang family photos. Really- you get to decide. But here are some of my favorite places to weave family photos in the home.

  1. A large photo above a dresser or console. Candid photos are really the best, right? They capture that moment imperfectly and take us back to special moment. I love how Emily Henderson took a candid photo and displayed it here.

The STARIS are the perfect backdrop for family photos. Two things that make this design work so well is matching frames and the whimsy colorful prints.

Above the bed. With the modern mats and black and white photos here, the photos don’t overpower the room. Instead it gives the space a calming and clean feel.

Let’s not forget about the hallway. These modern mats gives this hallway a dramatic streamlined look. You can almost hear the walls telling a story. ❤️

If you have a large blank wall, consider doing a grid of photos. I love the way Sara showcases her family photos in these oversized black and white prints.

Family photos make builtins and shelves come to life. I think these are great places for displaying a black and white candid photo of your wedding day or other special moment.
